Take The Pact to Protect Our Crags
When we climb outside in the Front Range, we have generations of climbers to thank for the state of our crags. With our sport booming and more climbers heading outside, it’s more important than ever to minimize our impact and protect our climbing areas for future generations.
The Climber’s Pact is a series of guidelines created by the Access Fund to inspire climbers to protect the land we climb on through just a few minor adjustments to our practice. Take the pact with us, and do your part to protect climbing areas for all those who come after us:
The Climber’s Pact
Be considerate of other users
Park and camp in designated areas
Dispose of human waste properly
Stay on trails whenever possible
Place gear and pads on durable surfaces
Respect wildlife, plants, soils, and cultural resources
Clean up chalk and tick marks
Minimize group size and noise
Pack out all trash, crash pads, and gear
Learn the local ethics for the places you climb
Respect regulations and closures
Use, install, and replace bolts responsibly
