Our New Neurodiverse Climbing Club

Are you looking for a fun and inclusive activity for your neurodiverse child? Do you want to help them develop their physical and social skills in a supportive environment? If so, you might be interested in The Spot's Neurodiverse Climbing Club!

At The Spot, one of our key missions and goals is to make the world a better place by enriching the communities we serve. With that in mind, we’re so excited to announce our newest Youth Program, the Neurodiverse Climbing Club. This program will allow neurodivergent youth to experience the life-changing potential of climbing in an inclusive and supportive environment. This club is designed for kids aged 9-17 who wouldn’t be able to participate in one of our existing clubs due to intellectual differences.

The Neurodiverse Climbing Club meets weekly for an hour and a half at The Spot Louisville and is led by experienced instructors who are passionate about expanding access to the sport and creating welcoming and inclusive environments. They understand the unique needs and strengths of neurodiverse climbers and with our 2:1 student:instructor ratio are able to tailor the sessions to suit each individual's preferences and goals.

Climbing is a great activity for neurodivergent children because it helps them improve their balance, coordination, strength, endurance, and confidence. It also challenges them to solve problems, overcome fears, and express themselves creatively. Climbing can also foster friendships and connections with other neurodiverse peers who share similar interests and experiences.

The Spot's Neurodiverse Climbing Club is open to anyone with an intellectual difference aged 9 to 17. No prior climbing experience is required, and all equipment is provided. The club runs on Thursdays from 7:15 am to 8:45 am, starting on July 6th and running for 5 weeks. The program will cost $239 for the full 5-week session.
